Unattended items may attract theft, and Building Management is not responsible for any lost or stolen property in these spaces. If you need to step away, we recommend setting a timer to ensure your laundry is promptly retrieved and not left unattended for an extended period. Washers and dryers are maintained by Hainsworth Laundry Company. If a washer or dryer malfunctions, visit the Hainsworth Service Request Portal . Renter’s insurance protects your family, belongings, and you when the unexpected happens. Renter’s insurance costs around $10-$20 a month. It typically covers: • Theft • Vandalism • Fire Damage • Water Damage • Property Damage Liability • Bodily Injury Liability • Medical Expenses • Additional Living Expenses Bellwether Housing has insurance that protects your apartment building, but we are not responsible for damages inside your apartment or to your belongings due to theft, fire, or flood. Bellwether Housing is responding to the need for affordable housing by adding 2500 new apartments to our portfolio by 2025, including three buildings currently under construction. We are focusing on building many 2- and 3-bedroom apartments for larger families. We invite you to share how affordable housing has had an impact on your life! Your story is powerful. Property Management Our Bellwether Property Management Team along with our Facilities Management Team manage leasing, resident needs, and oversee building security, safety, and upkeep. The team supervises major upgrades to older buildings and responds to daily needs of the residents. We have been managing affordable housing since 1980. Current residents can find help online for common requests at our Residents Portal . Facilities Management Services Routine exterior painting of buildings and interior painting of public and common areas. General building repairs. Maintenance of building life-support and safety systems, such as security alarms, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, electrical and lighting. Pest control. Care of trees and shrubbery, lawns, sidewalks and snow removal. Maintenance and repair of door locks and door hardware. Repair or replacement of community furnishings and equipment. Partnerships Bellwether Housing amplifies our impact with joint project development and service provider partnerships. Joint Project Development Bellwether partners with non-profit affordable housing developers and operators who demonstrate stability, capacity, and a long-term commitment to building and maintaining affordable housing in the Puget Sound region. We focus on emerging BIPOC developers and community-based organizations to build capacity. Mixed-income developments in partnership with non-profit developers Mixed-use projects that combine nonprofit or commercial uses with affordable housing Housing projects that need experienced co-ownership and management We work together to leverage the knowledge and expertise of community-based organizations to engage the residents and local community members. Some of the organizations partnering with Bellwether in joint project developments include Chief Seattle Club , Muslim Housing Services , University Christian Church , Mercy Housing Northwest , and Plymouth Housing . Service Provider Partnerships Bellwether partners with non-profit service providers to plan spaces for culturally-informed uses in our multi-use developments, such as child care and human services. Organizations with which we have a service provider relationship include; Hopelink , Friends of the Village Collective , El Centro de la Rasa , Kids Co., Family Works , Wellspring Family Services , and DSHS Developmental Disabilities Administration.
