Tate Mason is a senior building serving individuals 55 or older, and offers urban living at its best. Nestled on a tree lined street on First Hill, Tate Mason is conveniently located near hospitals, post office, library, and shopping on Broadway. Metro is easily accessible and services the downtown and surrounding areas, as well as weekly Access Van pickup at the building.

Amenities

Ongoing social events include potlucks, holiday parties, monthly bookmobile from local library, computer lab in the 4th floor community room, subsidized exercise class taught by certified fitness instructor, lovely community courtyard and garden area, and a community living room with cable TV provided. Underground reserved parking is available at no charge on a first come, first served basis. The building has intercom-controlled access, multiple laundry facilities on-site, and elevator access. Units have dishwashers and spacious floor plans. All units are handicapped accessible. Dog and cat friendly building.

Affordable non-subsidized senior housing. Must be 55 or older to apply. Tax credit property serving households earning below 60% of area median income. Section 8 vouchers welcome!

Full-Time Students

Due to Federal funding requirements for this property, applicant households must have an adult member who is not a full-time student unless one of the following student prohibition exceptions is met. You are:

  1. married and filing a joint federal tax return with spouse

  2. a single parent with a minor child and neither are dependents of a third party

  3. receiving benefits under Title IV of the Social Security Act (e.g., TANF)

  4. At least one student participates in a program receiving assistance under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act or under other similar, federal, state or local laws. (Attach documentation of participation.)

  5. previously under the care of a state foster care system
