We provide a variety of technical consulting services to non-profits, including:

Partners served by our tailored consulting services include organizations like YWCA, Downtown Emergency Service Center, Catholic Housing Services, Building Changes (formerly AIDS Housing of Washington), and Sound Mental Health.

Kenyon House

In 2008, Bellwether completed an 18-unit apartment building in southeast Seattle in partnership with Building Changes and Sound Mental Health. Bellwether’s housing development department led the team effort, and Bellwether’s expertise and financial strength added credibility to the project, which attracted sufficient funding from multiple sources. Bellwether assembled the funding, oversaw design and construction, provided project accounting, and mentored the Sound Mental Health staff in compliance with the various funding sources. The building earned a LEED© Platinum for Homes rating in recognition of its energy efficiency. More importantly, it provides a stable and supportive environment for eighteen individuals who live with multiple challenges including chronic mental illness, HIV/AIDS, chemical dependency and other conditions that can be treated successfully when people have a reliable place to live.

Today, Sound Mental Health manages the building and the supportive services for the residents.

Closer to Home: Our inaugural fundraising breakfast

Today was an important and memorable day for Housing Resources Group supporters, staff, residents and donors. We not only raised $110,685 at this morning’s event, but we unveiled our new name. Housing Resources Group is now Bellwether. The name changes, but the focus remains: to lead the region in solving its most pressing housing affordability issues. [...]

AFFORDABLE HOUSING – WHO NEEDS IT?

Do you know that working people in Seattle need affordable housing? Here’s an unavoidable reality: many people with full-time or part-time jobs – or more than one job! – face a growing gulf between what they earn and what it costs to rent a place to live. Minimum wage is simply not enough to afford to pay market-rate rents.
